Come along and learn how to add GIS to your geography lessons, you will see how to incorporate it as ‘teach from front’ tool or as part of an exercise for students.

We will explore free, ready to use resources that will augment your current lessons.

Learning Outcomes

• To help teachers use GIS in the classroom, particularly for Geography teachers, to incorporate GIS into their current lesson plans either as a ‘Teach from Front’ tool or as a TY module or for CBAs. GIS is specifically mentioned in the Geography JC Curriculum and I believe that the new LC curriculum will also specifically mention GIS.
• Provide teachers with some ready to use resources for their lessons, allow teachers to become more confident in using GIS to augment their current lesson plans
• By encouraging teachers to include GIS, this will meet their learning outcomes in the curriculum also.
