"Improving my beginners Spanish" for Primary Teachers (Feb-May 2026)

 

Note new starting date: 10th FEBRUARY 2026 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm (10 weeks)

Learning outcomes

• Communicate in simple, routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information, in a simple present tense, past tense and future tense.

• Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to immediate relevance (at the airport, at a restaurant, at a hotel, at the doctor)

• Understand short, simple texts like emails, letters, and simple instructions, finding specific info (use of Spanish websites for learning and teaching).

• Write short, simple notes, messages, or emails about familiar topics.

• Daily routines, past events, simple descriptions, health issues, future plans, comparing products.

• Cultural Awareness and use of pluralism - why, what and how.

Learning intentions and content

Participants will be able to:

• Introduce themselves, family, and others; describe their family and friends in simple terms (physically and personality) and talk about daily routines (present and past).

• Understand short, simple texts like notes, messages, menus, advertisements, and emails for basic needs. Grasp the main point of short, clear announcements.

• Tell someone about their past weekend. Tell someone about their future plans for a weekend/vacation.

• Book a table at a restaurant, book a hotel room, book a flight, talk to a doctor in simple Spanish

• Use numbers, time, dates, and large numbers (hundreds, thousands).

 • Write a short note to a friend asking them to meet
